Softball Recap: Crestwood Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Crestwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past the Wyoming Valley West Spartans 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Brooke Lenahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Crestwood's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Mendrzycki, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Mendrzycki a new career-high.

Crestwood's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Wyoming Valley West, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, Crestwood and Wyoming Valley West will both be playing Wilkes-Barre the next time they take the field. The Spartans will host the Wolfpack at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Comets will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
