Volleyball Recap: George Washington Extends Winning Streak to Three

George Washington had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Oak Hill Red Devils. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory on Saturday.

George Washington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-9, 16-14.

Julia Martino was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten assists and four digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last nine matches.

George Washington was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Hill only served five.

Despite the defeat, Oak Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Karma Johnson had 12 digs and one assist.

George Washington's record now sits at 21-10-5. As for Oak Hill, they dropped their record down to 14-19-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

George Washington has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Herbert Hoover on the 4th. As for Oak Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Charleston at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
