Basketball Recap: Kayla Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ferris over University

Ferris played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the University Titans, falling 64-42. The Saxons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 41-40.

Several Saxons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayla Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Jones has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mateia Eschenbacher, who posted eight points.

Ferris' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ferris will square off against Gonzaga Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Gonzaga Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for University, they will take on Lewis & Clark at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. University is facing Lewis & Clark at the right time seeing as Lewis & Clark is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
