Basketball Game Preview: Fluvanna County Flying Flucos vs. Waynesboro Little Giants

The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos will venture away from home to square off against the Waynesboro Little Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Fluvanna County is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Liberty Christian on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fluvanna County lost 68-47 to Liberty Christian. While losing is never fun, the Flying Flucos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 59th).

Meanwhile, Waynesboro ended up a good deal behind Stuarts Draft on Friday and lost 46-32. The Little Giants have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Waynesboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Fluvanna County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Everything came up roses for Fluvanna County against Waynesboro in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as the team secured a 79-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fluvanna County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
