Chartiers Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Upper St. Clair Panthers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Chartiers Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Papariella, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Michael Switala also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Chartiers Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Upper St. Clair, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Chartiers Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Upper St. Clair, they will welcome North Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
