Preview: Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights vs. Mountain Lake/Comfrey
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They and Mountain Lake/Comfrey will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Red Rock Central 77-39 at home.
Meanwhile, Mountain Lake/Comfrey came tearing into Friday's match with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 67-58 win over Murray County Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-8. As for Mountain Lake/Comfrey, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton lost to Mountain Lake/Comfrey on the road by a decisive 82-67 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Russell-Tyler-Ruthton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
