Football Recap: Indian River Indians vs. Early College Hornets
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indian River). They breezed by the Early College Hornets to the tune of 69-0 on Friday. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Indian River's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayvion Chandler, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another signal caller making a difference was Dylan Grise, who threw for 70 yards and three touchdowns.
Indian River wouldn't let Early College keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Michael Peranteau, Kyree Knight, and Ty Weber picked up one apiece. Weber is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last five games he's played.
The victory (which was Indian River's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. As for Early College, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Indian River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 60-0 win against St. Andrew's on the 25th. Early College has also already played their next matchup, a 69-13 loss against Conrad Science on the 26th.
