Soccer Game Preview: Ferguson vs. Varela

Ferguson is 1-8-1 against Varela since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ferguson Falcons will welcome the Varela Vipers at 3:30 p.m. Ferguson is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

If Ferguson beats Varela with three goals on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Ferguson came out on top against Southridge by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Varela kept a clean sheet against Mater Academy Charter on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Lions out 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vipers.

Varela is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Ferguson, their win bumped their record up to 6-0-1.
