Baseball Recap: Geneva Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Geneva and Jackson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Geneva had to settle for second. They fell 10-7 to the Aggies.

John Parker Johnson put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jacob Rose made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Geneva has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Jackson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-10.

While Geneva had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
