It was a good run, but Wilson unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-match winning streak on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Gulf Shores Dolphins.

Anna Simone paced Wilson's offense, picking up six kills. Simone got some help from Olivia Bugg Watkins and her 11 assists.

Gulf Shores was led to victory by Callie Hopkins and Elle Helton. Hopkins had 11 digs and three assists, while Helton hit 68.8% for 11 kills and nine digs and three aces. Helton has been hot, having posted eight or more kills the last eight times she's played.

Wilson's defeat dropped their record down to 32-11. As for Gulf Shores, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.

Wilson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering on the 11th. As for Gulf Shores, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Madison County on the 11th.
