Tri picks up fifth straight win on the road

Recap: Tri Titans vs. Union County Patriots

The Tri Titans entered their tilt with the Union County Patriots with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Tri blew past Union County 67-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Tri has posted yet this season.

It was another big night for Josiah Cox, who scored 26 points along with five assists. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Tri's points. Cole Melton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 16 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Union County still got an impressive performance from Mason Stewart, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nick Watterson, who scored eight points.

Tri's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Tri will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Union County, they will be playing at home against Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Centerville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday.
