Baseball Game Preview: Waterford Wildcats vs. Mariposa County Grizzlies

Waterford hasn't had much luck against Mariposa County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Waterford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Waterford came out on top against Stone Ridge Christian on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Wildcats walked away with a 7-3 win over the Knights.

Nathyn Morris was incredible, going 1-for-4 with five stolen bases and one run. Waterford is undefeated when Morris posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gauge Juarez, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Mariposa County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Le Grand by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Grizzlies have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Mariposa County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Rogerson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Mariposa County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Waterford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
