Recap: Fairview Eagles vs. Boyd County Lions

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Fairview finally came back down to earth on Monday. Their rough 10-0 loss to the Boyd County Lions might stick with them for a while. The match marked that first time this year in which Fairview was not able to get on the board.

For Boyd County's part, Brooke Jacobs spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just zero earned runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those six innings set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Jaycee Goad was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Stephens, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Boyd County, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Fairview will be playing in front of their home fans against Tolsia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boyd County, they will head out on the road to face off against East Carter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
