Softball Recap: Valley View Takes a Loss

If Valley View was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Paragould last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blazers took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Searcy Lions on Monday. The Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Valley View got a good showing from Layni Housley, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Housley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Harlee Allison was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Ellis, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Searcy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Searcy beat Valley View by a score of 17-15 later that day.
