Softball Game Preview: Cumby Trojans vs. Alba-Golden Panthers

Cumby is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to take on the Alba-Golden Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Cumby is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Cumby might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-3 to Big Sandy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Ella Horne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Kiersten Walden also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Alba-Golden came up short against Como-Pickton on Friday, falling 14-4.

Alba-Golden's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Cumby, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
