Preview: Westview Wildcats vs. Beaverton Beavers
Westview is 1-9 against Beaverton since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Westview Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Beaverton Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Westview is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Westview suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Sunset by a score of 46-43.
Despite their defeat, Westview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kaleah Medeiros, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Dara Oluwafemi was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Beaverton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Aloha, posting a 59-16 victory at home. Given Beaverton's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Aloha is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Beaverton, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Westview suffered a grim 64-43 defeat to Beaverton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Westview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
