Soccer Game Preview: Somerset vs. Altoona + How To Watch

Somerset hasn't had much luck against Altoona recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Somerset proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Bishop Carroll 2-1. Given Somerset's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Bishop Carroll are ranked 430th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leonardo Hurtado and Josiah Antram scored both of Somerset's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Altoona won against Mifflin County on Monday with four goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. The Mountain Lions put the hurt on Central Mountain with a sharp 4-1 victory. That's two games straight that Altoona have won by exactly three goals.

Somerset's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Altoona, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9-1.

Somerset suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Altoona when the teams last played back in August of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 3-0.
