East Chicago Central fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Bowman Academy on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 77-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bowman Academy Eagles. One positive for the Cardinals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Kahlen Robinson was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 53 points, 12 boards, and 12 steals for Bowman Academy. The match was Robinson's third in a row with at least ten points. Kaila Hopkins was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.

East Chicago Central is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8. As for Bowman Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the East Chicago Central Cardinals face off against the South Bend Washington Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bowman Academy and Illiana Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bowman Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
