Basketball Recap: Oak Mountain Academy Takes a Loss

Oak Mountain Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of LaGrange Academy. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against LaGrange Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-33 back in January.

Despite the loss, Oak Mountain Academy still got an impressive performance from Jeb Harper, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Harper is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games he's played. Leonardo Massi also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaGrange Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Jarvholm, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Jarvholm has become a key player for LaGrange Academy: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kayde Bradfield, who went 6 for 14 en route to 14 points and five boards.

Oak Mountain Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for LaGrange Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Oak Mountain Academy will head out to square off against St. George's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaGrange Academy, they will challenge Flint River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaGrange Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
