Football Recap: Bethany Piles Up the Points Against Chickasha

Bethany never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Chickasha on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-14 win over the Fighting Chicks. Given the Bronchos' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Fighting Chicks are ranked 149th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bethany got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brody McLaren out in front who threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 35 yards. Those three passing touchdowns gave McLaren a new career-high. Baren Tehee got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bethany didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tehee and Jagger Weaver. Tehee got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Bethany back to even at 2-2. As for Chickasha, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Bethany wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 27-26 victory against Blanchard on the 3rd. As for Chickasha, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Ardmore on the 3rd.
