Softball Game Preview: Simpson Broncos vs. Evans Eagles

Simpson is 1-9 against Evans since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Simpson Broncos will look to defend their home field against the Evans Eagles at 4:00 p.m.

Simpson easily dispatched Negreet on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Simpson fell just short of Hornbeck by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Broncos have suffered since March 2, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evans). They put the hurt on Pleasant Hill with a sharp 22-3 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Evans' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Simpson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
