Softball Recap: St. Marys Makes It Four in a Row at Home

St. Marys proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ravenswood Red Devils, sneaking past 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Cali Masters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

St. Marys' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ravenswood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
