Baseball Game Preview: Terry Bulldogs vs. George County Rebels

The Terry Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the George County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Terry has struggled recently with 12 defeats in a row, while George County will arrive with six straight wins.

Monday just wasn't the day for Terry's offense. They came up short against Germantown last Monday, falling 12-0.

George County not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 12-1). They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Hancock. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Chandler Cameron tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, George County saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Cecchi, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Cecchi has posted since back in February.

George County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hancock only managed one hit.

George County's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Terry, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.

Terry suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to George County in their previous matchup back in March of 2017. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
