Baseball Recap: Avon Lake Comes Up Short

Avon Lake suffered their closest defeat since March 29th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Benedictine Bengals by a score of 4-2.

Avon Lake got a good showing from Joe Falish, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Falish gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Josh Bobrowski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Avon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Benedictine, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Avon Lake will host Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benedictine, they will venture away from home to face off against Midview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
