Recap: Abundant Life Owls vs. Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Abundant Life Owls, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Sunrise Christian Academy on Friday, falling 55-7. Abundant Life was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Sunrise Christian Academy was led to victory by Cleve Sutherland and Wade Keller. Sutherland picked up 165 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Keller threw for 232 yards and six touchdowns. Darren Allison was another key contributor, gaining 73 total yards and a touchdown.
Abundant Life's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Abundant Life does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sunrise Christian Academy will face off against Destiny Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Destiny Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
