Soccer Game Preview: Piedmont Hills vs. Overfelt

The Piedmont Hills Pirates will head out to face off against the Overfelt Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Piedmont Hills' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Gunderson by a score of 2-0. The Pirates' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Axel Rubio and Cruz Velazquez scored both of Piedmont Hills' goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Overfelt has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. Neither they nor Del Mar could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Royals have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Piedmont Hills pushed their record up to 6-1-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Overfelt's draw makes their record 0-3-2 this season.
