Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

If Lincoln was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Riverview on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Railsplitters fell just short of the Portage Northern Huskies by a score of 6-5 on Saturday.

Chris Samuelson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season. As for Portage Northern, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15-1.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will welcome Plymouth at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Portage Northern, they will take on Forest Hills Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
