Scotts Valley never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Harbor Pirates with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Falcons have won six matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Kent made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.
In other pitching news, Sofie Seese looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
Kent wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lorelei Warner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Bella Williams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Scotts Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory made it two in a row for Scotts Valley and bumps their season record up to 8-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Harbor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
