Recap: Lone Star Longhorns vs. Otis Bulldogs

If the Lone Star Longhorns were riding high off their 51-19 takedown of the Belleview Christian Bruins last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lone Star took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Otis on Tuesday. Lone Star found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 27 to ten on offense.

Jade Kuntz and Aleighcea Kuntz certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Kuntz scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Kuntz scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Kuntz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Leading Otis to victory were Alli Hornung and Madelyn Willeke. Hornung scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Willeke dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Willeke scored 15 or more points.

Lone Star has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Otis, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Lone Star didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-29 victory vs. Deer Trail on the 8th. Otis has also already played their next match, a 60-28 victory against Peetz on the 8th.
