Beal City has gone a perfect 3-0 against Shepherd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Aggies are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Bluejays at 4:00 p.m. Shepherd took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Beal City, who comes in off a win.
13 must be Beal City's lucky number: they beat Gladwin with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Aggies were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Flying G's. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aggies.
Dakota Dodak was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dodak was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Beal City got a massive performance out of Emily Taylor, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Arryana Brown was another key player, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5.
Beal City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gladwin only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, Shepherd didn't have quite enough to beat Sacred Heart Academy on Saturday and fell 11-10.
Elise McDonald was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Leela Engelhardt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Beal City's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.4 runs thus far. As for Shepherd, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Beal City was able to grind out a solid victory over Shepherd in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, winning 14-9. Do the Aggies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bluejays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
