Basketball Recap: Munster Takes a Loss

Munster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette Catholic Blazers.

Vaughn Rael-Kludt produced another solid performance shooting 62% from the field on his way to 24 points and six assists for Marquette Catholic. Those 24 points gave Rael-Kludt a new career-high. Aleks Pecoski was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Munster's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Marquette Catholic, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Munster will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kankakee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Marquette Catholic, they will take on Westville at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. The Blazers will be up against the Blackhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.9 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
