Softball Recap: Idaho City Has No Trouble Against Notus

Idaho City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Notus, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 33-2 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three matchups by 23 runs or more so far this season.

Idaho City got a massive performance out of Kennedy Smith, who scored six runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Taylor Helmick, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 6-for-6.

Idaho City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Notus struck out eight times.

Idaho City pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 runs over those games. As for Notus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Idaho City and Notus will both be playing Horseshoe Bend the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Pirates will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
