Football Preview: McQueen Lancers vs. Foothill Mustangs
The McQueen Lancers will square off against the Foothill Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, McQueen came up short against Union Mine and fell 29-20. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lancers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 30th in Nevada, while the Diamondbacks are ranked 345th in California).
McQueen might have lost, but man, Aiden Hayes was a machine: he rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. Hayes' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Alex Hancock made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Foothill took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 25-13 victory over Natomas.
Foothill wouldn't let Natomas keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Jose Barraza, Clifton Currie, and Matthew Phillips picked up one apiece.
