Recap: North Charleston Cougars vs. St. John's Islanders
The North Charleston Cougars were the 36-35 winner over the St. John's Islanders when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. North Charleston had to suffer through a rough 61-31 loss at the hands of St. John's. North Charleston has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. John's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daeshia Buford led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Buford has scored at least 25% of St. John's points. Jasmyne Robinson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds.
North Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. John's, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
North Charleston will be playing at home against Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. John's, they will head out on the road to face off against North Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
