Basketball Recap: Norwell Takes a Loss

Norwell lost against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Norwell Knights took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights. While losing is never fun, Norwell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is ranked 31st).

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayle Taylor out in front who went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Drelyn Truesdale, who posted nine points and seven assists.

Norwell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Norwell will challenge East Noble at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they will face off against Fort Wayne Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fort Wayne Wayne's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.
