Recap: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Mainland Buccaneers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Sebring Blue Streaks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 35-14 defeat at the hands of the Buccaneers on Friday. Sebring's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Sebring lost, one person who can't be blamed is Travis Kerney. Despite the final result, he rushed for 98 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 55 yards and two touchdowns.

Dennis Murray jr. looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 150 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Sebring to a paltry 175 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Mainland's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out six times before it was all said and done. Jamison Holliday was especially locked on to Sebring's QB and sacked him twice.

Sebring's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Mainland, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record.

Sebring does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mainland's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Vanguard is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
