The Anderson Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Hendrickson Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Hendrickson likes a good challenge.
Anderson had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 52-point drubbing they dealt Lehman on Friday. The Trojans claimed a resounding 64-12 win over the Lobos. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Lobos recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Anderson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Crenshaw led the charge by rushing for 217 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 38 receiving yards. Crenshaw is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season. Jay Fullmer also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Anderson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Another reason for the win was Anderson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.4 sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Liam McMillian and Max Middleton, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Another thorn in Lehman's side was McMillian, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Hendrickson played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against College Station, falling 48-28. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Anderson will have to keep a close watch on Romelo Boykin and Pete Vallejo Jr., a pair of players who had a big impact on Hendrickson's prior game. Boykin picked up 161 receiving yards and one TD, while Vallejo Jr. threw for 267 yards on 20 of 31 attempts.
Anderson's record is now 5-0. As for Hendrickson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Anderson against Hendrickson when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 55-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
