Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Las Lomas Knights

Northgate and Las Lomas are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Northgate Broncos will be playing at home against the Las Lomas Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northgate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.1 points per game this season.

Northgate is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Ygnacio Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 62-41 to the Wolves.

The losing side was boosted by David Harris, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Deangelo Smith, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Las Lomas against Berean Christian on Friday as the team secured a 78-23 victory. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Eagles are ranked 849th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Las Lomas pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Northgate, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.

Northgate beat Las Lomas 84-76 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Northgate repeat their success, or does Las Lomas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
