Basketball Preview: Front Range Baptist Falcons vs. Denver Academy Mustangs
The Front Range Baptist Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Denver Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Front Range Baptist will be strutting in after a victory while the Mustangs will be coming in after a loss.
Front Range Baptist stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 70-50 margin over Union Colony Prep. Given Front Range Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Benjamin VanDenBerghe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alex Prelog, who scored 14 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Denver Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 64-47 bruising from Denver Jewish Day.
Front Range Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Denver Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9.
