Baseball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lyons's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Dawson School Mustangs on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this matchup were averaging 4.1 runs allowed.

Jake LaCrosse was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Lyons and nudges their season record down to 12-8. As for Dawson School, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Coming up, Lyons will look to defend their home field on Monday against Limon at 4:00 p.m. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Badgers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Dawson School, they are taking a road trip to square off against Colorado Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
