Soccer Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

Monterey lost against Lubbock-Cooper back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Monterey Plainsmen fell 2-0 to the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 5-3-3. As for Lubbock-Cooper, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1-4.

Monterey will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Palo Duro at 5:00 p.m. Monterey's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they will head out to square off against Amarillo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lubbock-Cooper is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.
