Soccer Game Preview: Lakeside vs. Nathan Hale

The Lakeside Lions will challenge the Nathan Hale Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Lakeside's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Roosevelt 1-0.

Meanwhile, Nathan Hale hadn't done well against O'Dea recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Fighting Irish. Given Nathan Hale's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while O'Dea are ranked 205th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nathan Hale's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-2. As for Lakeside, their win bumped their record up to 9-4-1.

Lakeside skirted past Nathan Hale 5-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
