Baseball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Academy for Academic Excellence came out on top against Silver Valley on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Knights blew past the Trojans 13-0. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.

Nathan Rudd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Academy for Academic Excellence got a big performance out of Noah Knecht, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Knecht has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Ripley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Academy for Academic Excellence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
