Softball Recap: Boonville's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Boonville dropped their record down to 10-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Castle Knights by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pioneers have suffered since April 12th.

As for Castle, they pushed their record up to 11-11 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Boonville: they've now won nine in a row.

For Castle's part, Sadie Winsett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Aubrey Baker was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Emma Bruggenschmidt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Looking ahead, Boonville will venture away from home to take on Evansville Mater Dei at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Castle, they will host Evansville Bosse at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
