Baseball Game Preview: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Hanks Knights

The Flowing Wells Caballeros will take on the Hanks Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Flowing Wells will be strutting in after a win while Hanks will be coming in after a defeat.

Flowing Wells was handed a 12-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Chapin 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Caballeros have posted since April 6, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Tommy Padilla, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Kehoe, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Hanks didn't have quite enough to beat Montwood on Tuesday and fell 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Hanks and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Flowing Wells, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Flowing Wells couldn't quite finish off Hanks in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Flowing Wells avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
