Soccer Game Preview: Montclair vs. Diamond Ranch

The Montclair Cavaliers will challenge the Diamond Ranch Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montclair's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Montclair didn't have quite enough to beat Chino and fell 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cavaliers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Cowboys are ranked 370th).

Meanwhile, Diamond Ranch kept a clean sheet against Don Lugo on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Conquistadores. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Anthony Rodriguez and Mathias Gonzalez scored both of Diamond Ranch's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Montclair's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-7-1. As for Diamond Ranch, they now have a winning record of 6-5-4.

Everything went Montclair's way against Diamond Ranch in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, as Montclair made off with a 5-1 win. Does Montclair have another victory up their sleeve, or will Diamond Ranch turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
