Softball Recap: Spanish Fork Victorious

While Spanish Fork's win against Crimson Cliffs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spanish Fork Dons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Dons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Spanish Fork let Jade Romero and Blakely Hathaway run wild. Romero scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Hathaway went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. What's more, Romero posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Lia Higginson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Spanish Fork's record is now 2-4. As for Crimson Cliffs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spanish Fork will square off against Payson at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Spanish Fork has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Crimson Cliffs, they will challenge Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
