Softball Recap: Clinton Prairie Wins Going Away Against Lafayette Central Catholic

Clinton Prairie lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lafayette Central Catholic, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Gophers blew past the Knights 17-4 on Wednesday. The Gophers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Clinton Prairie got a massive performance out of Kaydence Kesler, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Kesler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Perez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Clinton Prairie's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Clinton Prairie will venture away from home to challenge Clinton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.86 runs per game on average), something the Gophers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will welcome Lebanon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
