The Ocean Springs Greyhounds will square off against the Harrison Central Red Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harrison Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ocean Springs, who comes in off a win.
Ocean Springs is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: West Harrison, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Ocean Springs was ranked fourth). The Greyhounds claimed a resounding 56-21 victory over the Hurricanes. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Solomon Baggett, who rushed for 203 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 17 rushing touchdowns on the season. Sharroid Whitehead was another key player, gaining 101 total yards and a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ocean Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Harrison Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by St. Martin and fell 50-13. The Red Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Despite the loss, Harrison Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ke'Adrian Brown picked up 130 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Ocean Springs' win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.2 points over those games. As for Harrison Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Ocean Springs has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 247.1 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Harrison Central, though, as they've been averaging only 96.1 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Ocean Springs against Harrison Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-3 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Red Rebels' Jorden Anderson, who rushed for 102 yards, and also threw for 128 yards on 11 of 23 attempts.
