Brookland-Cayce scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets by a score of 15-14. The defeat leaves the Bearcats still looking for their first win of the season.

Aubri Dunigan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Bullis, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Brookland-Cayce always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Brookland-Cayce's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Aiken, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Coming up, Brookland-Cayce will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Chapin at 7:15 p.m. As for Aiken, they are taking a road trip to take on Brookland-Cayce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
